Romans 4:21- And being fully persuaded that, what He (God) had promised, He (God) was able also to perform.
Abraham was promised a son by God when he was old in age and his wife Sarah was barren. The odds appeared to be stacked up against them, but in reality it wasn’t. With God we are the majority! Abraham and Sarah promise for a child was from The Almighty God. That is enought right there to beleive. We are reminded of what God says in Isaiah 55:11- My Word will not return unto Me void; it will go forth and accomplish that which I was sent it to do. We are also reminded in Mark 9:23-Jesus said , “If thou canst believe,” all things are possible to him that believeth.
Abraham believed God, in spite of their age and the condition of their bodies.
Perhaps you are going through a situation that seems impossible. I hear God saying to you “Trust Me. If I said it, consdier it done!” Numers 23:19 declares on today that God is not like people. He tells no lies. He is not like humans. He doesn’t change his mind. When he says something, he does it. When he makes a promise, he keeps it.
I know that many people could think of several reasons why it is difficult to trust God. I believe that one main reason is the fact that for so long many people have trusted in themselves and others, making it very hard to trust God. Understand this one thing; God’s way don’t always make sense to us. We can seach throughout the bible and this world and find all kinds of situations and circumstances that just don’t seem to make sense.
Our thoughts or opinion does not negate the fact as to whether or not something is true or not? I am pretty sure Abraham and Sarah said the same thing; “this does not make any sense.” Sarah laughed when she heard God saying to Abraham that she shall have a son. Here are her words- After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
You see, it did not make sense to her either. It did not matter that she doubted because the promise was given to Abraham and he believed God. When God gives you a promise, He is not giving your promise to others, He is giving it to you. Only you have to trust God and beleive it. If it made sense to you, then maybe it was not God that promised it.
While waiting, Abraham and Sarah did what we ourselves have done so many times in our wait on God to fulfill His promise in our lives. We try to help God out. Abraham and Sarah tried to help God too by using their own method (Hagar) to bring God’s promise to pass. We do the same thing, thinking that we too are helping God fulfill His promise that He has made to us!!! God does not need our help, he want our faith. He want us to trust Him, take Him at His Word.
God told Noah to build an ark. I am sure it did not make sense to him or the others around him. Noah’s concern was not about the people, it was about God and what He said. “God promised a flood and told him to build the ark to preserve him and his family and all those that were willing to enter. It took over 100 years, but the flood came. God’s Word came to pass.
God promised Abraham a son and it took over 20 years after the promise was given, but it did happen. They had Isaac. It took over 100 years for the flood and guess what? The flood came and everyone died accept Noah and his famly. Why? ‘UNBELIEF”! They thought Noah was crazy and did not believe what God spoke to them through Noah and the ark. What is my point? If God said it, consider it done!! He does not have to give us the time frame in which he will work it out, just “BELIEVE!!!”
God works on a different time table than us. God declares Isaiah 55:8- “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. Our minds can not comprehend the mind of God, therefore, we must trust God and take Him at His Word.
Yes, it can be difficult to trust in a plan that requires us to surrender all control to God when He gives us a promise. As humans, we don’t want to give the control of any part of our lives over to another. If you don’t believe that God loves you fully and really does have your best interests at heart and desires the very best for you, trusting Him is going to be extremely difficult for you.
Believe it or not, the trials of life is exactly what God is using to test the level of trust that we have in Him.
In spite of the trials, we always have God’s promise that the trials and tests that we go through are working together for our good, according to Romans 8;28. As we learn to trust God, our relationship with God strengthens and our love for Him grows.
We can trust in many things, but none can offer the protection plan, the long term security, or the benefits that trusting in God offers. All of the other things in which we place our trust in are temporary. They will fail us . God never fails!
We must realize that man is a human being and human being make mistakes at times. They are not “all knowing” or “everywhere at one time,” only GOD is. We need to stop expecting man to fill the shoes of GOD and stop expecting God to fill the shoes of man. What I mean by that is that we expect too much out of our spouse, children, parents, friends, church family, etc. sometimes. Not realizing or respecting the fact that they are not GOD. When they tell us they are going to do something for us and don’t come through; we get upset, disappointed, and all out of character. But remember they are not GOD!
Remember, God is not man! He knows and sees all and there is nothing done in the dark that is not revealed. Let’s stop treating man like GOD and GOD like man!!! We can trust GOD because all we have to do is look at His reputation…has He failed any of us yet? No! Has He forsaken any of us?No! God’s Word declares that He will never leave us nor forsake us; lo, He is with us always even unto the end.
GOD will take care of you! He told us not to worry because we are worth more than two sparrows and if they don’t worry, because they know they will be taken care of, then why should we worry? TRUST GOD!! Seek Him first and all other things will be added unto us. (paraphrasing Matt. 6:25-33). Rely on and trust in GOD, because He is our source.
If God has made you a promise on today, don’t worry about how God would keep His promise. Abraham did not reason with God, He did not say “But Lord, I have no seed to plant and Sarah has no life in her womb to conceive because she is past child bearing age. Abraham believed God’s promise to him.
When God is working a work in us to increase our faith, He eliminates all human resources. He closes the door to all human possibilities to get us to put our focus on Him and Him alone. His Spirit begin to work in us, causing us to stop looking to others and ourselves, but looking unto Him.
Romans 4:21 declares on today that Abraham didn’t stagger in his faith. Rather, he was “fully persuaded that what (God) had promised, he was able also to perform”. He recognized that God is able to work with nothing.
The bible declares in Genesis that the world was without form and void. God created the world with a Word from His mouth. If God is able to speak the world into existence, what is it that you and I are in need of that he is not able to take care of? We serve a God who is able to take nothing and make something.
Hebrew 13:8 – Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Regardless of what your situation may look like on today, God can create a miracle on your behalf out of nothing!!!
When all else fails — when your every plan and scheme has been exhausted — that is the time for you to cast everything on God. -1 Peter 5:7–Cast all your care upon Him (God); for He careth for you.
If there ever was a time when the world need to put their trust in God, the time is now. It is time to give up all confidence in finding what we need anywhere else. “Jesus is the answer for the world today, above Him there is no other, Jesus is the Way!!!”
Once you have made up your mind and are ready to believe, you will be able to see God as a Creator who works from nothing.
Will you trust God on today? Proverbs 3:5-6-Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct thy paths.
TRUST GOD IN SPITE OF WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!! HE IS ABLE TO DO EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL WE COULD ASK OR THINK ACCORDING TO THE POWER THAT WORK IN US.
GOD BLESS AND TELL THE LORD THANK YOU THAT YOU HAVE PLACED YOUR TRUST IN HIM ON TODAY!!!
TELL THE LORD THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
