Romans 5:5A – And this hope will not lead to disappointment.
HOPE= A feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. The feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.
THE BELIEVER’S HOPE = Favorable and confident expectation concerning God’s promises and our unseen future. HOPE FOR THE BELIEVER! FAITH IN GOD AND HIS WORD!
DISAPOINTMENT = To fail to satisfy the hope, desire, or expectation of. To frustrate or thwart. To fail to meet the expectations, hopes, desires, or standards of; let down.
In our text on today, we are told that hope in God does not lead to disappointment. Disappointment is one of the oldest human experiences! Have you ever been disappointed in someone? Of course, we all have. Everyone knows disappointment sooner or later n life. To those of you haven’t experienced disappointments yet, KEEP LIVING!
The disappointments of life are a part of life. They can either make us or break us! The good news of hope on today is that God give us a promise that He will not disappoint. Therefore, put not your trust in man, but in God. Man will deceive you.
God’s love for us does not put us to shame nor disappoint, for it is shed abroad. It is poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
We have experienced disappointment in many forms. Friends and coworkers have break their word, children grow up and go away from home or to college and never call us, marriages end in divorce, people we love and care about betray us, companies we work for and gave our lives to lay us off, our dreams are shattered by tragedy and on and on, one disappointment after another.
The hope of God’s child is that He will do His good work in us, through us, for us and for His own glory, and that no challenge or weakness on our part, nor difficulty in life shall deter Him.
As Christians, our focus is not on the disappointments of life, but on the promises of God’s Word. Romans 8:24-25 – But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
Romans 15:4 – Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
SAINTS, WE HAVE HOPE AND NOT DISAPPOINTMENT ON THIS MORNING! For God’s Word declares to us THIS DAY that Hope in Him will not lead to disappointment because His love for us is shed abroad in us through the Holy Spirit. GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY!!! I CAN SHOUT RIGHT THERE!!
BE BLESSED AND HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND. REMEMBER, GOD’S HOPE IS LOVE, WHICH NEVER LEADS TO DISAPPOINTMENT.
I LOVE YOU ALL WITH THE LOVE OF CHRIST.
