John 8:11 – She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Go and sin no more! Oh, what powerful words Jesus speaks!
In John 8 we are given the story of a women who was caught in the very ACT of adultery. According to the law of Moses, both should have been stoned to death.
Leviticus 20:10-‘If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife–with the wife of his neighbor–both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.
The religious leaders of the day, the scribes and pharisees took the woman unto Jesus while He sat in the temple teaching. Can you just imagine the humiliation and shame that sin brought to that woman that day?
After having heard Jesus command to cast the first stone if they believe they are without sin, the scribes and pharisees departed from that place with conviction in their own hearts one by one.
Why did Jesus not condemn her? Luke 19:10 – For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”
Jesus declares these words in Luke 5:31b – “The healthy don’t need a doctor, but the sick do.
The pharisees and scribes thought they were exempt from the need of a Savior because of their traditions and keeping of the law, but Jesus, in this story, showed them their desperate need for the forgivness of their sins too.
YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN! GO AND SIN NO MORE! Oh, what words of peace and comfort to the broken hearted, wounded and spiritual sick on this morning.
There is no sin that God is not able to forgive!
Jesus makes a profound statement here ” “GO, AND SIN NO MORE!” When Jesus comes to redeem us, He comes to redeem us from all our sins.
I promise you that if you come to Jesus today as broken, wounded and spiritually sick as you may be, you too will heart Jesus say,”your sins are forgiven; go, and sin no more!
Psalm 103:12 -He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.
YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN! GO, AND SIN NO MORE! Oh what peace and comfort comes from hearing Jesus speak these words! Joy should fill our souls!
God bless and I love you all with the love of Christ!!
