Matthew 9:27-29 – As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” 28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied. 29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”; 30 and their sight was restored.
In this text we are given an account of yet another one of Jesus miracles after a simple request from 2 men who were blind. They followed Jesus where he went , asking Him for mercy.
The 2 blind men made their request known unto Jesus. Philippians 4:6 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. The first step in getting our need met is to make our request known unto the Lord.
God’s Word declares on this morning in Ephesians 3:20 – Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. It is by faith in God that the power of the Holy Spirit worketh in us and through us to produces those things in our lives that are exceedingly abundantly above our ability, request and our comprehension.
When the 2 blind men made these words of confession of faith in Jesus “Yes, Lord,” Jesus touched their eyes and spoke these profound words of healing over them “According to your faith let it be done to you”; In other words, you have received what you believe you could have. According to your faith, be it unto you!
With just one touch, Jesus restored the sight of these 2 men according to their faith. Where is your faith on this morning? What is your impossible situation? What mountain in your life that seems too high for you to climb? Jesus can climb it! What valley seems too low on this morning? Jesus can go under it. Have you asked Jesus to show you mercy on this morning? He can and He is willing and able to do it.
Do you stand in need of mercy on this morning? God is the God of all mercy and He is willing to give it to all who would come to Him by faith believing that he is able to do it. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
As Jesus said to these 2 blind men, He is saying the same to you and I on today “be it unto you according to your faith”! Where is your faith? Ask and it shall be given, seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be open. Call on the Lord for He will hear and answer our prayers.
God bless and do tell the Lord thank you.
I love you all with the love of Christ!
